Celebrating Abby

Jenn and David needed childcare due to a work function, so Buck and I grabbed Vanessa and John's kids too and took the Grands out for supper Friday night to celebrate Abby's 8th birthday. We scored major points for having the restaurant decorated for her birthday.  (I was not about to tell her that Happy Birthday banner has been up since July!)

After supper, we toured the local decorating hot spots. Cayson's "Wooking at wites is boring.! contrasted quite well with Brody's "Wook! Wook! My side! Kissmus wites! Eww! Preey!

Creating for the grandma!

Sometimes the grand that needs clothes created is the grandma one. Weight flucuations due to health issues mean I need clothes that fit. Hopefully, I will see a stabilization of my weight as med levels are correctly adjusted.
In the mean time, I need not to be naked. Therefore, I plan, and I assemble fabrics, patterns, and notions. And I sew.
I have sewn lots of cool knee length shorts for our intense summer weather we have endured this year. I purchased several lengths of stretch twill sportswear fabric from Joann's Fabric, Almond buff, bright white, royal blue, true red, powder blue, and a light blue geometric print. I also purchased a stretch dark denim. I pulled fabric from the stash including a tan linen type.
I sewed short shorts from Royal linen type and a tannish cotton type.
I have completed several tops using fabrics from the stash. One sleeveless knit was made from a piece leftover from a blouse made years ago. One dropped shoulder top with princess seams was sewn in a cotton print of light blue cabbage roses on a white background. A rayon challis multicolored print became a wearable toile. A piece of knit became a tee shirt.
I have green eyelet + pattern = a button front shirt.
I have white tissue linen + pattern =  an asymmetrical blouse.
I have white eyelet + pattern = light jacket. I might use some dark denim for contrast in this jacket.
I have 4/5 yards of Endless Seas striped embroideried fabric + patterns =  blouse, skirt, and/or dress.
I have dress lengths of knit fabrics to make several maxi dresses.
I have lengths of fabric to make a linen skirt.
I need to give my sewing mojo a couple of Red Bulls! Lol
